Tri-State Conference Releases Fall 2026 Schedules
In an effort to help teams plan ahead the Tri-State Collegiate Rugby Conference has published the Fall 2026 team schedules. Click on the links below to view the schedules. Team officers are encouraged to share this press release now with their school administrators and team members.
MEN – The 8 men’s teams in Division III will each play one another and then the top 4 will playoff for the Conference Championship with the traditional pairing of the #1 seed hosting the #4 seed and #2 hosting #3. These semifinals will take place on November 1st, 2026 and the following weekend the winners will compete in the Conference Championship game. Last year the United States Merchant Marine Academy, Kings Point defeated Vassar College 31-24. The Tri-State Conference also includes a Developmental Division and these teams will play each other home and away with the top 2 playing off after the regular season.
WOMEN – The highly competitive Tri-State Women will adopt a new format for 2026-27 with a modification of the previous two tier system in place. At the Annual General Meeting on February 1st, 2026 there was considerable discussion about alignment and competitive games. The net result was that 4 teams opted to have a Division II national pathway, 3 teams chose a Division III national pathway and the 6 teams were content to play the regular season and conclude with a Conference Jamboree i.e. Bowl games for all.
As opposed to previous years when a Conference postseason has included single elimination games this year the Division II teams will all play each other home and away and the final standings will determine the seedings one through four. The Conference has always received 2 national postseason berths and in some years a third has been earned. Given the results of the past 2 years in the NCR Regional rounds where Tri-State’s second and third placed teams have defeated other Conference #1s and the Tri-State Conference #1 has defeated multiple #1s it is hard to deny that the top 3 teams should advance in Fall TS Men Fall 2026. We want to see the best teams competing in the postseason.
